Valentine's Card Class Project

Hi everyone. Sorry I have been MIA lately. My youngest son, Blake, had strep throat last week and then before I knew it, the week was over!

I wanted to show you another project that we made at my Valentine's Card Class. This is a 3-D project with chocolate. Who doesn't love chocolate! This is an easy thing to make for any occasion.

My Second New Thing...

Hi everyone! What a crazy week it has been! I am on call tomorrow for work-boo! Oh well! I wanted to show you my second new thing in my scrapbook room. Well here it is!

What do you think? I just love it! My hubby bought it for me for Christmas. My upline, Tiffany, makes these chicken wire frames for our craft fairs. I always wanted one for my room. I can put pictures or cards on it. Once again, Tiffany, was in on my Christmas gifts. Neil even took her the paint so it would match my room! It is Early Expresso and my walls are Baja Breeze. Well, I told you in my last post that I added some things to my scrapbook room. I will not keep you in suspense any longer!!! Here it is!!

Well-What do you think? I am absolutely head over heels in love with it!! It is like crack to a scrapbooker/card maker. I have all stuff in one place and don't have to "turn" things to find it or dig in a box. Also, I have my daubbers for my ink and even my chalks with their daubbers (sorry if its misspelled) underneath. The shelf I like too. I put all my smooch spritz on it, and my baskets on top that hold my personalized stamps and my clear mounting blocks!

I got it at Stamp-n-Storage online. If you click on the link, it will take you to the 60 ink pad combo holder (this is what I have). They also have smaller ones as well. Tell them I sent you!

Hi everyone! Did you all survive the holiday weekend? I think it was just a blur. It came and went so fast. My house looks like a disaster area. I didn't sit and watch any Christmas movies until Christmas Eve/Day. Usually, we watch "The Polar Express" and "The Santa Clause 1,2, and 3" a million times. Not this year. Oh well. We can still play catch up!! Hehe!

It is New Digital Download day! Woohoo! On to Valentine's Day. On that note, the family went to Evansville the 26th (yes-all of us). It really wasn't that bad. In Target, however, I just stopped and starred (spelling?). Where all the Christmas cards were by the music/video dept....there was a HUGE sign that said "Happy Valentine's Day...". Holy Crapola! We can barely get done with one holiday and they are shoving the next one in our face! Sorry for rambling!

My Digital Christmas Card

Happy Thursday! One more day!!!! It has been such a long week at work. I cannot wait until tomorrow evening. Our weekend is crazy busy, but it will be a great one!

I want to share my Christmas card that I made completely on My Digital Studio AND printed through Stampin' Up's printing services.

First and foremost-I need to give a huge shout out to one of my dearest friends, Kelly Birrell. She does photography on the side and she took our family pictures out at our family farm. They turned out so good! Thanks so much Kelly. You rock!

Tomato Cage Christmas Trees

Hi all! Happy Tuesday! Sorry I have not posted much lately. It is very busy at work and at home! I have a Christmas Craft I would like to show you.

I am totally addicted to Pinterest. This is where I got the idea. I made Christmas trees out of tomato cages! How cool is that! Here is my picture:

The image is not all that great. I took it with my phone to put on Pinterest. I used plant containers that I spray painted black. Then I flipped the tomato cages upside down so that the big ring goes in the container. I secured the stakes that go in the ground together with flower wire. I used a pin or hook to secure cages. I did invest in better garland so it would last for years and put it on. Then I put on the lights and Tada! I think they look fantastic! You can make it too! Have a great day!

Hi everyone! Sorry I didn't get a post up yesterday...It was my birthday!!! Yeah me! I am still only 29! Haha!

It snowed on my birthday too! I could not believe it! According to my Grandpa, since the first snowfall here in southern Indiana was on day 29, there will be 29 snows! Holy cow! It was some of the biggest flakes I have ever seen. Grandpa even started singing,"It's beginning to look like Christmas.."He is 85 years old, but he is so young at heart!

MDS Bridal Shower Invite

Happy Black Friday! I hope those that shopped til they dropped got some awesome deals! Me, on the other hand, had to work today :(. It is ok. I went shopping last year at this time. I was my turn to work today. We had a pretty good day.

I wanted to share with you the Bridal Shower Invite that I made on My Digital Studio. It is for my cousin, Danielle. She is getting married in January! I already told her I was wearing my Carhartt overalls to the church (hehehe). It was last weekend, so I wanted to wait until it was over to show everyone.

The colors are Basic Gray and Wisteria Wonder. She made the color combo. I think it was a great choice. I incorporated many items: punches, stamps, and of course, ribbon! Here are the stockings that I made on the Big Shot.

I love the Big Shot Stocking Die! It is so darn cute!

The one on the left I used Real Read, Garden Green and Whisper White Cardstock. I used hemp twine and a little bell found in the Holiday Mini. I also used the Big Shot Stocking Accents die to get the berries and leaves. I sprayed it with our Silver Foil Smooch Spritz.

The one on the right, I used our totally awesome glitter papers. It comes in Red and Silver. I used the Decorative Label Punch to get the tag. The "To and From" is from the Dear Santa stamp set in the Holiday Mini.

Christmas Ornaments with the Big Shot!

Hi everyone! It's hump day! Yeah. I hope everyone has a good day. We are in for some interesting weather. Tuesday was 75 here. On Friday morning the low is suppose to be in the upper 20's! No wonder my head hurts!

I wanted to share something that I made with the Big Shot-Christmas ornaments! I have found another addiction! It was something that was shared on pinterest.com. I thought I "pinned" it to save, but I could not find it. If I ever find it-I will definitely give a shout out to her! Here they are!

Aren't they just awesome! I used roof flashing from the local home improvement store. The dies that I used are the Lattice and the Big Snowflake! I am going to try if I can spray paint them with a glitter paint or other paint! If you do not have a Big Shot-there are so many things you can do! Our Sistahs Big Shot Challenge

At our "My Crafty Sistahs" monthly meeting, we do a swap/challenge each month. The challenge I accepted was to make a card using the Big Shot. I have a couple of items on this that I used the Big Shot for. Here is the picture:

Happy Tuesday! What a difference a few days make in Southern Indiana! I was sweating at the Craft Fair this past Sunday. Today-you almost need a coat! It's a whopping 50 degrees with the wind blowing and rain. Wow! It's great soup weather, so I made two! I know! Today on the menu is Cheeseburger Soup-my Aunt Mary's recipe. It is so awesome. The other one is Chicken Noodle. A family favorite.

I took a break from showing you some of my scrapbook pages from My Digital Studio, but I wanted to show you some more!

This is another Christmas page! I cannot believe I have Christmas 2010 completely finished!

I can't say much about the other years...I take so many pictures. This is why I love MDS. You can choose a picture layout to start, then add paper and whatever else. The program "plugs" in the photos and you can adjust them to size and even shape. You can even put it in a punch (have to do a little extra for it, but it's worth it. Happy Tuesday everyone! Big things today! One-today is my day off from work (woohoo!). Second, I am having a Pampered Chef party tonight at my house (double woohoo!). Third-Tuesdays are Stampin' Up Digital Release Day (triple woohoo!!!)! I will attempt to show you the new weekly downloads! My Digital Studio is a fantastic way to scrapbook and make cards if you don't have enough space or cannot afford all the regular scrapbooking products. Going digital gives you a ton of different ways to alter you page! If you put it on your laptop-you can take it where ever you go! I took it to St. Louis with me on vacation and worked on it to unwind for the day. I have not done Christmas pages in years, because I take so many pictures. I have turned over a new leaf. Christmas scrapbook pages are DONE for 2010, thanks to MDS! Remember, the MDS downloads can be used with other digital software. (Go to our website for more info). My Digital Studio is very user friendly. I have tried other programs, but MDS is my fav!

We Will Never Forget...

Hello everyone. Today is a very emotional day in our country. It marks the 10th Anniversary of the attacks in New York, Washington and the brave souls on Flight 93 who crashed in Pennsylvania, fighting for their country.

I worked the 2:30-11:00 pm shift at the hospital at the time, so I was at home cleaning the house. I had not turned on the tv yet that day. I had the radio blasting (of course this was before children) and was a cleaning machine. Neil called me at home and yelled on the phone, "Are you watching tv??!!" I said no and he told me to turn it on. I could not believe what I was seeing . I was watching the broadcast when the 2nd plane hit the other tower. I was shocked and tears just started flowing. I eventually had to go to work. We were all upset and talking about it.

Please pray for those that lost love ones in this tragedy in the planes and towers, and for those brave firefighters and policemen that risked their life to save others. Also-please keep in your prayers those that are suffering health ailments after this tragedy. Many have died as a result being in the toxic debris after the towers fell. May we never forget..

Black Magic Technique

I wanted to show you a card that I made with the Black Magic Technique. I thought this gave a card a whole different look. I want to thank Wendy for the awesome tutorial! Here is the card!

Happy Tuesday everyone! I just got the kids off to school, but I am going back to school to help out in the classroom for a bit. I thought I would show you a scrapbook page I made before I go.

I just love this page! I used a sketch for this one. This was Zach's 4th birthday..he will be 9 in December! He is growing up so fast!

I used the Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper. The stamp I used was from the Word Play set. This

set is a must have. It has sayings for just about everything. The punches that I used were the Cupcake Builder Punch, the Scallop Trim Border Punch (on the side) and the 2 3/8" Scallop Punch. The title was non SU (sorry! don't have many stamp alphabets!)

Hi gang! Happy Monday! Another fun filled week of homework with the boys-woohoo! I want to share with you a card that I made for a doctor that is retiring.

I cased this card from Gretchen Barron from Stampin 411. You rock Gretchen! I used the Paisley Petals DSP, Night of Navy and Whisper White cardstock. I used Baja Breeze and Night of Navy markers to color the stamp (sorry it's retired!). Then I used the Scallop Border Punch to accent the side. I didn't use anything else for accents. It is for a man, so I didn't want to use ribbon (did I just say that?). I thought it turned out great for a man card. Thanks Gretchen for the idea.

And for the doctor that is retiring: Dr. Miller-our hospital is losing a great OB/GYN, surgeon, and individual. I am grateful to have worked beside you in the surgery department. You have definitely earned your retirement! I love that you are going to help your daughter out with her children. You will be missed and Best Wishes! Yes-my eyes are watering typing this! Hi everyone! Welcome to Thursday. We are almost there! I wanted to show you a card that I had made. I am really hooked on this set. You will see why!

I LOVE this stamp set!!! It is called Button Buddies! It has a little something for everyone!

Too cute! This set comes in clear or wood mount. I used Real Red Designer Buttons. On the buttons, I used the new Bake's Twine-White. I colored the stamp first with Stampin Up markers-Early Expresso, Old Olive and Real Red. To finish the card, I used a saying from the Curly Cute stamp set. This also comes in clear or wood mount. If you want to start making cards-these are super simple to make! Contact me and you can host a workshop and get this stuff for free! What about Christmas cards with snowmen! That sounds like a good idea-I might just do that!

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!! I was on call for surgery yesterday-whew, I am still tired! I work about 12 hours yesterday. Now I am trying to play catch up!

I wanted to share with you a card that I made for one of my friends. Her and her husband are going to travel down a rough road ahead and wanted to give her something to lift her spirits.

I thought it turned out great! I am on a roll with the Lucky Limeade and Red Riding Hood colors. I used those for my cardstock along with Whisper White. I used the Flower Garden Embossing Folder to add the flowers. I love the embossing folders for the Big Shot. I use Lucky Limeade and Riding Hood Red classic ink with our sponge daubers to "color" the flowers. I used the square punch and the new stamp punch on the whisper white cardstock. I just love that new punch. For the "H" and "hope", I used the Strength & Hope stamp set offered in the Summer Mini. It also is available as a download for My Digital Studio-that includes the stamp set, embellishments and paper to match!! Bold Blossoms

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday. The boys and I are going to go to Grandma Suzie's house (my mom's) to swim! It's either that or stay inside. We are trying to do some things before they go back to school.
If you have read a couple of my previous posts, I taught Bible School last week. I had several parents stay with the class to be with their child and help me out. I decided to make them a card..all 7 of them! I based my card off of the sketch from Stamping 411. So this is the sketch I used.

This is what I came up with:

It is very simple. Sorry the picture is a little crooked. I did not use another layer under the Riding Hood Red. I used one of our newest In Colors, Lucky Limeade, for the background. I totally forgot about the ribbon after I made a few. I used the Bold Blossoms stamp set. The whisper white cardstock was cut using the Top Note die in the Big Shot. I embossed the Riding Hood Red cardstock using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder for the Big Shot. For the saying, I used the Scallop Punch and the XL Oval Punch. For the flower, I used the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch! It can punch 3 different designs! It is so cool! I used a Basic Rhinestone for the middle of the flower. I used Perfect Plum for the flower and the oval punch. I also used Perfect Plum classic ink pad for the saying. How did I get the stem of the flower so straight? I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig! I love that thing! Thanks Stamping 411 for another great sketch! If you think you are not creative-think again. Sketches are great inspiration to make anything. You can do it! Hi everyone. Well-it's Monday. I am still recovering from teaching Vacation Bible School last week. I taught the Preschool class and there were 15 in the class. They wore me out, but we had a great time.

Happy Thursday everyone! I hope everyone is getting through the week ok. Here is a card that I made with a hostess set available in the Summer Mini.

I love this card. It is very simple, but beautiful. The cardstock that I used is Peach Parfait and Whisper White. The classic ink pads used are Peach Parfait and Pear Pizazz. As I said before, the flower is from the Hostess set called Love & Care. The wording is from Thought and Prayers in the 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog. The Thoughts and Prayers stamp set is only available in wood mount #113252 25.95. The Love & Care stamp set is available in both wood and clear. Hi everyone! How was everyone's Monday? I had a long day-working my 9 hour shift at the hospital, then I was at Vacation Bible School from 5:30-8:30! WOW! I do have one big perk with VBS week-I do not cook supper all week!! The boys and I eat supper there. They have great meals. Woohoo!

Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! Ours was kind of on the soggy side, but we had fun anyway!

I wanted to show you the card that I made for my Mom and Stepdad Tim. I used the sketch from Stampin 411 for this week. Their wedding anniversary was over the weekend. The majority of my friends know that my mom LOVES (I do my loves) the color purple. Because of this, I used a new In Color! It is called Wisteria Wonder! It is the lighter purple. I also used Elegant Eggplant. The accent piece is also one of the the new In Colors! It is Lucky Limeade punched out from the Dotted Scallop Border Punch (119275 15.95). The flower is stamped in Whisper White craft ink and it is from the Fabulous Florets stamp set from the Summer Mini (wood:123025 23.95

clear: 123027 17.95) I then used the Basic Pearls Jewel Accents (119247 4.95) . I used Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set for "Happy Anniversary". I got the color combo from the Color Coach! I love that thing!

Happy 4th of July everyone! We celebrate at Otwell, Indiana. It's a very small town, but when the 4th of July comes around-everyone comes in! We have tractor pulls, awesome barbeque, the famous parade, and the great fireworks! I grew up in Otwell and it is a yearly tradition to be with the family and celebrate our freedom. Here is a layout I did from last year.

Teacher's Gifts

We are on our way to St. Louis!! I thought I would share what I gave to my sons' teachers.
I really appreciate what my boys' teachers do for them each year; therefore, I give them a little something to say thank you. I try to do something different each year. This is the card that I made them.

Isn't it just too cute! For this card I used the following:

Whisper White and Early Expresso Cardstock

Builder Wheels (Summer Mini): Elementary Alphabet 123229 4.95, For Teacher 123230 4.95, School Colors 123228 4.95.

I used Daffodil Delight, Early Expresso, and Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink Pads for the wheels.

The apple 4U is from Apple Blossom (Hostess Stamp Set-I you want it, better hurry! It says good-bye July 1st!)

Taffeta Ribbon 3/8" in Daffodil Delight 119766 6.95 (10 yards)

I gave each of them a bracelet from the Simply Adorned line from Stampin' Up! I decorated it with a Black Crystal Bauble (121011), a Clear Crystal Bauble (121012), a key from the Trinket Keys (set
of 4, 121892), and a 5/8" Circle Charm . I used Tiny Tags 118582 16.95 for the charm. I used the Old Olive and Melon Mambo markers to color the flower to make the image. Basic Black classic ink pad was used for the sayings. They loved it!!

Father's Day Swap

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is having a good week! We leave on Saturday for St. Louis..yeah! I wanted to share the Father's Day card I made for our monthly swap for our SisTahs group!

I used the Well Scripted stamp set for the saying (stamped in Real Red). (It is available on My Digital Studio!!!) The grass is stamped in Old Olive and it is from Inspired by Nature set (wood only #111656 $23.95) I used the Extra Large Oval Punch (119859 $16.95) for the background and used that Designer Label Punch (119862 $15.95). I love this punch! I hate to see it go! The ribbon is saying good-bye too! All of the 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon is retiring! This is Old Olive (#109054 $6.95). The brads are from the Silver Hodgepodge Hardware (I think it is sold out-might check if you want it!) The card itself was a new technique I saw online. It is called Ink Directly to paper. I scored Whisper White cardstock at 1/2" intervals and used Basic Gray ink pad directly on the cardstock. It make it looks like a fence. Too cool huh! Have a great hump day!

Hi everyone! Last night some of my gals and myself went to see The Hangover 2. Kelly Birrell, Nicole Anderson and Tiffany Bauer were my dates for Wednesday evening! I am still laughing today about it! Awesome movie!

Hi everyone! I am not encouraged by today's upcoming bad weather, but I wanted to show you the card that I made for our monthly swap with my sistahs! This month's swap was to make a unisex baby card. This is the card that I made:

Isn't this card just darling! I CASED this card from the one and only Robin Merriman! I stamped both the outfit and the saying with Black Staz On. I then colored the outfit with Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, and Pretty in Pink markers. I actually stamped the outfit and the saying at the same time...I love those clear stamps! The stamp sets that I used are the Slice of Life and Something to Celebrate. Both of these stamp sets are hostess sets..have a workshop and earn them for FREE. If you really want these, you must have a workshop by April 30. These sets are in the Occasions Mini and will go away after that day. I finished the card with Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding! This is a super simple card, but oh how gorgeous it looks! Hugs Robin! Thanks for the idea and I am thinking of you! Now-go stamp something!

Easter Favors

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. It has been crazy around our house! Zach and I are in charge of making Easter Favors for his class..all 26 of them! So we put a baggie together with bubbles, a pencil, eraser, and some candy. He wanted to put a tag on it-so we headed down to the scrapbook room to see what we could come up with!

Isn't that just too cool! I used the Scallop Punch to make it look like someone took a bite out of the Chocolate bunny! I love this bunny stamp, but it was in a previous mini. Zach used Choc. Chip classic ink for the bunny.

March Challenge for My Crafty SisTAHs

Hi everyone! At our monthly meetings, our upline, Tiffany Bauer, gives us a challenge. The challenges can vary from trying to talk to someone that's never heard of Stampin' Up, try a sketch, etc. You never know what she is going to come up with! For March-she challenged us to choose one of the following Designer Series Paper packs; Blueberry Crisp, Lap of Luxury, or Woodland Walk. I am not a big fan of any of them-hence the challenge. The ones that took on the challenge must either make a scrapbook page OR make three card with the DSP chosen out of the three. I chose Blueberry Crisp. It wasn't as bad as I thought. I did a page with Zachary's Field Trip...

I used a sketch to create this page! Whohoo! I can't remember all the stuff I used to make it-lots of the Big Shot Dies! I {heart} the Big Shot! I think some of them were Daises Flowers#2 Bigz Die, Scallop Circle Bigz Die, Naturally Serif Sizzlets Strip, Circle Bigz Die. Sorry-I can't remember them all! Have a great day!

Bookmarks

These are some bookmarks that I made for one of my co-workers. She was helping at a retreat for A Walk to Emmaus. She gave them to the girls that attended. They loved them! My co-worker found a certain poem she wanted to use and told me that she wanted it decorated with butterflies. I made the bookmark in Microsoft Word and altered the fonts the way she wanted it. I actually was able to feed the cardstock through my printer! The cardstock that I used is Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss (retired), Tangerine Tango, Pink Pirouette, and Baja Breeze. I made 60 of these bookmarks and forgot to make one for myself!

For the butterflies, I used the Beautiful Butterflies Big Shot Die (114507) 21.95. Then I accented and used the small butterfly by using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die (118138) 11.95. The stamp sets that I used on the bottom are Bold Blossom (clear ) 122232 9.95 (wood mount) 123232 12.95 and Clearly For You (clear) 121976 17.95 (wood mount) 121911 23.95. Then I used the same classic ink pad for each main color of the bookmark.

When I took these to her, she was about in tears. She couldn't believe that I took her ideas and made them a reality! I thought the bookmarks turned out awesome! Have a great day!
